At Studio Rizzo, design begins long before the paint samples and furniture deliveries. It starts with inspiration—a feeling, a mood, a moment—and unfolds through a meticulous process that brings clarity and cohesion to every space we touch.

Whether we’re working on a city apartment, a period townhouse or a countryside retreat, our process is rooted in curiosity, creativity and calm. Here's how we take you from first ideas to the final finishing touches.

Inspiration & Moodboards

Before we ever talk paint colours or furniture layouts, we listen. We want to understand how you live, what inspires you, and what kind of atmosphere you want to come home to.

We then translate those conversations into a visual moodboard—a curated collection of images, textures, tones and references that becomes the creative anchor for the entire project.

These moodboards help capture the feeling of your future home. It’s less about trends, and more about timeless expression—your personal style, elevated and distilled.

Spatial Planning & Flow

With the aesthetic direction in place, we begin to map out the space.

• How do you move through the rooms?

• Where does light fall at different times of day?

• Which pieces deserve pride of place, and which corners need rethinking?

  
  

We look at scale, balance, and function—planning layouts that allow the space to breathe, while ensuring everything serves a purpose. Whether it’s a reimagined open-plan living area or a more intimate reading nook, every detail is considered.

Colour, Material & Finish Selection

Once we understand the space and the mood, we begin shaping the palette. This stage is about tone and texture—layering materials and finishes that feel harmonious, tactile and authentic.

Expect:

• Natural materials that patina with age

• Soft colour palettes punctuated with bold contrasts

• A refined mix of texture—linen, stone, oak, brass, boucle, ceramic…

This is where homes start to feel alive—grounded in their architecture, but expressive in their details.

Furniture & Styling

With the structure of the design in place, we begin sourcing and specifying each piece—furniture, lighting, rugs, artwork and accessories—all chosen with intention.

Whether we’re designing a bespoke dining table, sourcing vintage chairs, or selecting artisan lighting, we prioritise craftsmanship, comfort and cohesion. The styling is what ties everything together, adding soul and softness to the space.

We don’t believe in overfilling a room. Instead, we aim for considered layering—so each element has space to shine.

Installation & Final Touches

As your project moves into its final stage, our team handles the delivery, installation and styling.

We oversee every detail, from furniture placement to shelf styling, ensuring the final result reflects the vision we created together.
